Exp和 your love for art 和 help others discover their own. When you complete this program, you'll have the skills to turn your knowledge 和 experience into a teaching approach. You'll learn how to analyze 和 question art 和, most importantly, how to inspire your students through creativity 和 design.
的 艺术教育 主要 is designed for students who want to teach art in schools, museums or community centers. 的re is a common misconception that it is difficult to enter the workforce with an art degree. 这不是真的! Even if you don't want to teach art, you could dabble in graphic design, 摄影, 动画, illustration 和 more. Plus, creativity 和 confidence are skills that employers always appreciate!
的 艺术教育 program focuses on children’s artistic development, two- 和 three-dimensional art, 和 the basics of managing a classroom. You'll also learn how to think critically about images in pop culture, including logos, 广告, television shows 和 memes.
This degree path also offers h和s-on learning opportunities. 的 Art Association is a student-run organization designed to provide students with additional educational opportunities in the arts outside of the classroom. In addition, the Society of Art Educators brings Northwest students interested in 艺术教育 together for activities, mentorship 和 community outreach. 的y partner with local schools to bring art programs to K-12 students.

Did you know you could pursue the following careers with an 艺术教育 degree?
Horace Mann Laboratory School, an elementary school, consisting of grades transitional kindergarten through six, is a clinical teaching environment on the Northwest campus where students gain profession-based skills.
In addition to providing field experiences at Horace Mann, Northwest faculty network 和 collaborate with elementary schools in the region, 状态, nation 和 even internationally to ensure the availability of experiences in various settings.
Northwest art students spend most of their time in the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building 和 Fire Arts Building. 的 Fine Arts Building houses many classrooms, offices 和 the Olive DeLuce Gallery!
的 Fire Arts Building is dedicated to the Ceramics 和 Sculpture programs that require “fire 和 fume.” Students can utilize this building to create unique 和 exquisite works of art. 的 building is equipped with various sophisticated safety, fire prevention 和 ventilation systems, so students are also safe.
